EVENT CAMPAIGNING

I create eye-catching advertisements that spark interest and drive attendance. I craft bold, visual campaigns that build anticipation, communicate key details clearly, and connect with the target audience. In these specific examples, I worked overall for a local high school in Westland, Michigan. I worked closely with staff members to promote events. I planned, executed, and promoted events for 4 years. I publicized each event through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, physical flyers, and word-of-mouth. These are some highlights of my favorite advertisements.

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

I directed and co-edited a video promoting a spirit week for a school dance. This dance was especially important for the community. So, I made a video illustrating the dress-up days. This video was posted across social media platforms, showcasing what to wear, which days are which, and boosting up school spirit. Directing this video challenged me by working with multiple actors and directing them to locations and actions. While I make short videos promoting events for TikTok and Instagram, this was my first time directing and editing a longer video that was personally sent out throughout the community.

FUNDRAISING VOLLEYBALL GAME

I campaigned for a fundraising sporting event to maximize profit. This project allowed me to target a specified audience through colors and graphics. This was an event where a selected number of men played against a volleyball team. This event included a lot of planning for campaigning. Outside of the original flyer, I created advertisements to promote tryouts, captions, verbal announcements and presentations, and more.

WEEK-LONG ADVERTISEMENT

I planned and promoted an engaging week-long event to promote anti-bullying while raising money for a special education program in a local high school. This event was especially important to me because I had to be creative not only in planning the activities, but also when campaigning. Along with this advertisement, I created one for each day and for each activity, posting them on platforms daily. Consistently posting about the week reminded the audience what the activities and spirit days were, improving audience engagement. Through this project, I learned the importance of audience engagement by creating a visual advertisement that illustrated the activities and spirit days.

EVENT PROMOTIONS

I planned and promoted a nostalgic event. Since a field day is typically for young children and the target audience was teenagers, I wanted to emphasize on those good memories. To do this, I brought in aspects that reminded the audience of their childhood by using activities and graphics that played on this nostalgia. This was a fun project that allowed me to be creative and spunky, adding in all of the fun colors and communicating with multiple businesses and programs in order to work with them on the event.

EVENT COORDINATION

I campaigned and planned this sporting event each year for 4 years, increasing profit each year. As president of this program, I needed to fundraise money by engaging the audience and bringing in participants. I created multiple promotions throughout the years for this sports game. I designed shirts to sell, created promotional videos, and hosted advertised tryouts. This event averaged around 500-600 viewers each year, making about $11,000 overall, becoming the most profitable event for this program. Without my advertisements, the event would not be able to reach to as large of an audience as it did.
